I went to go have my warped-a** rotors ground and turns out one of them was to warped even to grind down so I picked up some new ones. Just finished putting them on and testing it and there's a noticeable grinding sound at all times. Time for new pads too? If so is it a good idea to get good pads (hawk hps?) when i can only get them for the front discs? I can't find anything other than oem replacement for the rear drum shoes. Cash is too tight for a rear disc conversion.

I would make sure the rotor seated properly. I had a friend have that on his new car. Rotor was not seated and was grinding. But yes a good set of pads never hurts.

HPS are awesome pads. Very good street/autox pad. Not overly aggressive, but IMO the perfect pad for the stuff we do around here.

I've since read on most how to's it says to compress the piston, but the haynes didn't and that's what i was following. Could it be that? I had the rotor held down with lug nuts. check/try both tomorrow i guess.

If the pads and caliper fit over the rotors then you shouldn't have had to compress them. However. If not compresses you could be shaving the pads you have... That could be your grinding.

Anytime you replace your brakes whether rotors or pads or both you should compress the caliper and just to be safe bleed the brakes afterwards to make sure there are no air bubbles.

if you replaced the rotors replace the pads!!!! the pads are wore to the old rotors. get the best you can afford from a local place. Race pads are cool but not 100% needed. :D

God I need to be b****-slapped sometimes. I took of the wheel, went to go undo the retainer clip and realized I never put it back to the position it needed to be. Now fixed, but i'm still getting some HP+'s :) Probably won't be able to use them on the 13th tho, since i'm getting new pads I don't wanna get these ones bed in and with shipping time and bed-in time I doubt it'll be ready by then unless some shop around town has them in stock.
