Post subject:  Stoptechs on the Z

Well I put on my Stoptech 13" 4pot kit, even though I'm not sure I'll really get to use them this year.

General impressions:
The first time out before the pads (Axxis ULT) were fully bed-in was scaring at best. Initially it had premature ABS in the rear combined with very long stopping distances and then a tendency to wander for the second part of the bed-in at higher speeds. However, once they were bed, oh my!
To get a feel for braking power and bias, I went to Newton Hills. Some of the roads leading to the park can be fun but you can carry some pretty high speed so I don't push much more than 7-8 out of 10. The road is even crappier than normal this year so 7 is probably the highest I went, plus the tires I have suck.

Anyhoo, the bias was my major concern, after my last BBK on my SC300 when I only did the fronts. So I trail braked a few of the slower corners and it felt very stable, I may have to play with different pads to get a better feel on a more open track but for now I'm content. The braking power is best described by my cousin Dustin, "We were entering that corner marked 45MPH and I noticed you were still doing 135MPH, my only thought was, OH SH!T." Simply amazing and endless stopping power on a street pad, for now, but only real seat time at a track will tell with some more aggressive tires and pads.

I'll try and get some pictures once the weather clears up and I actually wash the car.

Side note: Axxis ULT pads make clouds of dust on your wheels, not a big deal since I'm not a beauty freak but for those who are, beware! They do have a slight squeal during low speed stops once they're warm, again doesn’t bother me.
