Online registration for the 2009 SCCS advanced and beginners drivers schools is now open. Interested drivers can sign up by clicking on this link: http://208.88.241.68/~sccsioux/

The advanced school will be held Saturday, June 20 and costs $40. Registration is limited to 20 drivers. The school will include a morning in the classroom with professional instructors. Instructors will provide practical guidance during timed runs in the afternoon.

The beginner's school will be held Sunday, June 21 and costs $30. Registration is limited to 30 drivers. More information on the beginner's school will be posted ASAP.

PayPal is the preferred method of payment for either school.

EDIT: Many thanks to Steve "Bean" Veenhoff and the rest of the crew at Gage e-Services for making our online registration possible.

****If you want to take the class you must pre-register!!!****

Registration will close Wednesday the 17th.

Who do you recommend take what class? I mean, for example, a driver who's never been autocrossing should obviously take the beginner class, but what about someone like me?

I took the class last year, and raced almost every race last year, but I'm not really sure if I should take the advanced class just yet.

I guess the real question is who should take the advanced class, and how much experience do you think they should have?

I'm planning on taking the advanced class this year. If you have been through the beginner class and raced most of the races last yeat then the advanced class is for you.

I kind of that that was the case, thanks.

Any idea what topics will be covered in the advanced class?

What ever Russ feels like talking about. I'm sure it will be informative.

I would look at it like this.

If you feel you can push the car to 100% of its limits then take the advanced course...

In the advance course it will teach you that you are wrong and you can always improve.

The beginners class is for people who maybe feel a little less sure.

I did and edit to the original post.

****If you want to take the class you must pre-register!!!****

Registration will close Wednesday the 17th.

Please spread the word. We have 4 signed up for the advanced and only 2 for the beginner school so far. Russ has some really awsome instructors lined up for the advanced school.

Hope to see you all out!!!

Excellent! I can't wait for the advanced class/school! I'm going to see if I can round up some people to attend the beginner school. I know I learned a lot last year when I attended it. I highly recommend it to anyone who's debating to attend.

Kayla- Its up to how you feel. How comfortable are you in the vette Kayla- that would define what class I would take if I were you. There are no prerequisites. For instance if you have not taken the beginner school, doesn't mean you can't take the advanced. Use your best judgement. I think anyone could pick up good advice and learn more from either day.
