yokohama w.drive, this is my first day driving them, and i'm surprised at how squirrelly my backend has been today, i'm use to having zero slippage.

Just ordered a set of Dunlop Graspic DS3's for the Protege for this winter. Can't wait to get them on the car.

Looks pretty mean Dan. AWD + Winter + snow tires = TANK!

I'll be getting my Icebear W300s mounted to my 16" EX wheels pretty soon. I've never had winter tires of any kind before so I'm kind of pumped, even if it is a Civic, haha.

I used a set of Icebear W300s on my Mazda3 and Mazda5. They're pretty decent tires but I found their winter performance, especially in deeper snow and on ice, fell off pretty rapidly toward the end of their useful life.

The General Altimax winter tires on the Civic now have about 2,000 miles on them as my trip home from northern Ontario draws to a close. They haven't seen snow yet but they're supposed to be among the top-performing (on snow and ice) winter tires, especially for the price. But like Dan's W.drives, they are kind of squirrelly, particularly on dry pavement.

How long can you use them before / after snow is present? I've heard dry pavement eats snow tire rubber for breakfast.
