Hit up the local motorcycle shops if your just looking for an M rated helmet. You can try them on and find one you like. Otherwise if your looking to buy online they have guides. You just have to measure your head.

I picked up a black Pyrotect for about $250 from a shop in town here. It's SA2005 rated. Pyrotect is a pretty good budget helmet from what I've read.

The only issue I've had with mine is the foam gasket that goes around the visor fell off part way so I ripped it off. Not a big deal.

I wear glasses and it works fine for that as well if that's an issue.

A few years ago I picked up an M2005 helmet (I can't remember the brand) from Mid-America Motorplex in Sioux Falls for under $120. It's worked well for me.

If your in no big hurry you can wait for the racers swap meet at the fairgrounds this winter and get a helmet in the right size but because a certain size in a motorcycle helmet will fit dosen't mean on another one that it will it takes trying them on to get one that will fit comfortably

If you ever plan on doing a track event look at getting an SA rated helmet.

Do not buy Impact or Simpson. Their reputation was recently ruined. I like bell or arai but I'm sure there are lots of other good brands.
