Cobb makes good stuff. They've pretty much said screw the VIIIs and IXs for support to work on the Xs; who can blame them!

Here's your next mod:

Buschur rules! Heck, I think Megan makes a pretty good exhaust system for the X too; might be worth checking out.

If you get exhaust, there won't be any quiet Evos anymore because I just got a deal on a cheap muffler delete pipe and I'm going to see if I can drive a loud car again, haha.

i like the attention to detail in the AMS stuff. i just ordered their intake system for the MR. if i get an exhaust system it will probably be this one:

http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/AMS-Mitsubishi-Lancer-Evolution-X-Twin-Tip-Turbo-Back-Exhaust-System.html

this is the whole system, you can separate out the parts, like the down pipe is $500. the most important part according to cobb...

it also has disks you can slip in to quiet it down off the race track, very nice for a car i need to drop off my kids at school with.

Those disks are probably similar to the baffle I have in the tip of the Goodwin Race muffler on my Miata. I've never driven the car without the baffle in place but am confident it's a lot quieter with the baffle than without it.

Hey,

The COBB guys are pretty cool. I have actually been out at their main location/shop in Salt Lake City, UT before. They have a very good R&D and tech dept. out there. It was cool to see their time attack STI there too!!

I have used their Accessport on my car to flash tunes, datalog, etc. since 05' without incident. I used their OTS stage 2 tune on my car for about a year before I had it protuned. Their stock stage tunes tend to be rich and quite conservative, which gives a nice base tune and nice bump in power. The difference between a OTS stage 2 tune and a protune, though.... is night and day.

I also have a COBB Tuning turbo-back exhaust, lightweight crank pulley, F&R swaybars, endlinks, rear swaybar mounts, and a COBB short throw shifter, bushings, etc... Their R&D and attention to detail is second to none. You will be happy with the parts Trey and his crew put together and they have very good customer service...

You can't go wrong with either AMS or Buschur parts. Quality is second to none for Evos. Can't wait to see what your car feels like with the intake/cobb tune! :D

EDIT:

I do agree with Ian on the Buschur exhaust though. Excellent choice! IMO they have more of a nasty growl sound compared to most exhausts out there for the evo and they are one of the lightest out of the non-titanium exhausts out there.
