I'm interested in starting to autox and I was wondering what class I would be in.

03 evo VIII

slotted/dimpled rotors w/OE pads
TBE
intake
upper intercooler pipe
MBC
E85
upgraded clutch
all stock suspension
factory sized kuhmo ecsta asx tires
rear strut bar
Evo IX BOV

Thank you for your help!

03 evo VIII C +14

slotted/dimpled rotors w/OE pads +0
TBE (with either a high flow cat or TP) +3
intake/upper intercooler pipe +1
MBC +4
E85 +0
Tune via Ecuflash/Stock ECU +0
upgraded clutch +0
all stock suspension +0
factory sized kuhmo ecsta asx tires +0
rear strut bar +1
Evo IX BOV +0

You have 1000cc's/Fuel pump, right? If so +2

Total points is +25 so you'll be in NXB if I'm not mistaken. Someone please double check
everything to make sure I'm not missing anything for Paul.

Thanks,
Brent

You got it. You'll be in NX-B as well. I was in B last year, but I swapped in a IX turbo, which sent me to RUS.

It'll be great to have a couple more evos out there! :)

Paul, I did edit my first response. Doesn't change your class, but being we're tuned on the stock ECU, from what I've read on various forums, this year it doesn't equate to a +10. This way you have more points to play with for extra mods, if you don't want to jump up to NX-A.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks,
Brent

Paul,

I'd just worry about working on your driving more than modifying the evo. Get some seat time; ride with people who've autox'd for awhile and that's where you'll learn a lot. Or even let someone you trust, drive your car and ride with, so you can see what they're doing in your own car.

Otherwise, if you are going to mod, I'd for sure start with your tires and the suspension (coilovers, rear anti-sway, camber, alignment). Those will make the biggest improvements, without a doubt.

You've got plenty of power now with E85. If you do go with more power, it's noticeably easier to screw up more because things are coming at you so much faster. I certainly noticed it's tougher reacting when I switched over to E85 + extra boost and gained a lot of extra tq/hp. :D
