Looking at my car I noticed that my rear will be pretty close to the tires with these springs. With the 1.5 in drop in the rear there would be about .5 inches (about the width of the knuckle of your index finger)before the fender is literally riding on the tire (the fender lines up with the outer portion of the tread so it would rub if lowered enough). I prblly sound retarded cuz I have never lowered a car before...well first car so ya. But basically my question: is half an inch gap between fender and tire enough for the rear, considering they are 30% stiffer springs and the rear sways less? for comparison front would have about 1.5 inch gap

EDIT: I was actually wrong in my first post...KYB only warranty the struts up to a 1.5 in drop (not 2)...not too concerned about voiding the warranty though because it only protects against manufacturer defects. Cant imagine that an extra .3 inches would cause them to blow anyway...

EDIT AGAIN: (completely unrelated) but while I'm at it I mise well ask...I am getting a new front bumper (v 5/6 STI bumper) from subaru, but to fit the bumper properly I need a new bumper beam...I have two choices either JDM Lightweight Beam (82.5% weight reduction over stock beam) or 2.5 RS Beam (10% weight increase)...most likely the RS one cuz my parentals are freaking out over safety and demand I spend 200 extra dollars for the "safer" and heavier option...I got two questions first off the beam on my car is only rated for impacts at 15 mph or less, considering there is a couple hundred pound engine between me and the beam is the beam really protecting me at all or is it more to protect the engine components? Second, would either beam effect my classing?

When I last saw your car I would not worry about this. You should have plenty of clearance on your tires.
