Replacing good wires wont make a world of difference. Replacing one like mine that are shorting out will change everything. My car had the original wires from 97 in it. I normally will change the miata wires every few years. Miatas tend to destroy them more that most cars.

That is a good question Tony, but its more on the basis of the car. Certain vehicles will see an improvement with Aftermarket larger wire, and some will not. Some cars (aka most Hondas) are better off leaving the stock ignition system alone. Miatas as mentioned go through spark plug wires rather rapidly.

With your car, you would see a slight improvement. My guess is they are still stock wires, and not sure as to your nature or ability with cars. I would suggest if you havent- try changing plugs and wires. You may see a nice return of performance.

miata's recomended interval for wires is 30k. it made a huge difference on my current miata and the GBM. i noticed it mostly in the idle, and a little on the smoothness(sp) when driving.

in the miata world the best ones are NGK blues. on tonys focus i would be very surprised if he didn't notice a difference with new/better plug wires. also make for a great time to check/regap/replace spark plugs.

Yeah I put NGK's in it at the beginning of the summer and changing from the 107,xxx mile motorcrafts to brand new ngks was day and night. They're holding their gap absolutely perfectly, but there's a teeny weeny bit of white on them.

Old post I know but I just got some focussport plug wires, seems like it expresses the powerband a little more and definitely made it smoother. Also put on the front stress bar tonight and HOLY $h**!!! Geeerripp. Can't wait to put on the rear one see how much it helps.
