So I locked up the tires going into the transition yesterday and now they have flat spots. :( Well, it was more of a "lock up the tires to get stopped so I didn't murder a dozen cones" situation, but anyways... I can't really see any visible signs they're flat spotted, but I can definitetly feel it when I'm driving.

Is there any way to get rid of the flat spots? The tires still have a lot of tread on them, so I hate to just throw them out 'cause of this. Would having them shaved a little get rid of the flat spots? Is there any place in town that does that?

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

If you don't see a flatspot and you still have a lot of tread left then try getting the rebalanced.

Thanks guys. I guess I would have thought doing a burnout would wear the flat spot as much as the rest of the tire, so I didn't even think about doing that.

Balancing them might help a little, but I can't help but think it's still going to vibrate because the tire isn't perfectly round.

If you are vibrating at speed then it is balance. If you are feeling something at really low speeds then you have a flat spot.

I know it's a flat spot since I can feel it at low speeds as well as high speeds.
