Today I ordered a set of new wheels (Kosei K1-TSs) for the NT-01s and am now trying to decide what to do with the stock Miata wheels. The NT-01s are currently mounted on the stock wheels.

One possibility would be to use the stock Miata wheels as my street wheels (TSW Kyalamis are my current street wheels) and use the new wheels for the race rubber. If I were to follow that course of action, I'd either sell the Kyalamis or put them on the Civic and then use the stock Civic wheels for winter tires.

The dimensions and bolt patterns of both the Kyalamis and the stock Civic wheels are the same and the offsets should be similar. However, the hubs of both cars are different sizes, according to a rep at Discount Tire Direct. So the DTD rep said I would need hubcentric rings (and new lug nuts) to fit the Kyalamis on the Civic.

With the above in mind, will I really need hubcentric rings to run the Kyalamis on the Civic? I supposedly have needed rings to run the Kyalamis on the Miata but have never used them and not had any real problems. In fact, when I installed one ring on one of the Kyalamis and then tried to put the wheel back on the car, it seemed like the wheel wouldn't fit properly on the hub any more, particularly when I was trying to tighten down the lug nuts.

Along the same lines, would I need hubcentric rings if I decide to use my stock Miata wheels for the Civic's winter tires?

I have never really used hubcentric rings.

I don't know if its the same with new civics and miatas but with the old gens with 4x100 pattern you can use a civic wheel or any after market wheel on either car. You can use the rings on the miata but it is not necessary. I do have rings on my K1 wheels but don't use them on my rotas. Now I do know the one thing you can not do is use the miata wheels on a civic. Again, I don't know if its the same on the new ones but I know thats how it is on my car.

I can second the miata wheels on civic, the stocker inner hubs are too small to fit the civic.

The Koseis came with the hubcentric rings already installed, so I'll just leave them in for now. Thanks to everyone for his advice.
