got my cobb access port today, and, of course i couldn't just sit in my office with all that goodness sitting next to me. Louis and i took it out over lunch hour. my stock ecu setting did 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, i put in the stock stage 1 tuning and i improved to 4.8 seconds, with a lot of pop on the gear shifts. this is without a true launch, i only rev it to 3k rpms not the full 4500. (the cobb AP does 0-60 and 1/4 mile timing, along with a dyno.)

there is a custom map on the web site for the AMS intake, so i'm excited to get that in and see what that does for my power.

Good deal man. :D Those things are running pig rich from the factory, so a lot to be gained on just the tune itself.

I know with the evo VIII/IX you could use the ECU to raise the boost level. Does the cobb access port offer this yet? I'm assuming not since the car is still fairly new.

yeah, theres a stage 2 tune with turboback exhaust required that has you remove the restrictor pill from one of the tubes off the waste gate solenoid. so i assume their adjusting the boost in that map.

My experience with COBB tuning/ Accessport has been great and I am glad you are happy as well! 8) Do you have access to change base timing & maps on the fly, datalog, change maps (I think I have about 12 maps in mine now), check mpg, etc.? If so, you will be equally happy down the road (if not now).

It is a great platform for tuning the stock ECU.. You will be pleased. I really did not mess with the turbo psi so much in my protune as timing tables and target AFR. That makes a HUGE difference on turbo cars. Methanol/H2O injection allows you to advance timing and lean AFR more than stock a bit.

yeah, it has logging and you can switch maps by just pulling over and picking a new map. it has some cool maps like economy and valet that keeps the rpms under 3200, to avoid that ferris beuhler's day off type situation.

have you been able to use interface straight into the computer from the plug they supplied. basically a laptop instead of the cobb tuner?

I use the same cable supplied that usually goes btwn the OBD2 dongle and the accessport in reverse to link the accessport to my laptop for uploading datalogs and/or downloading firmware upgrades, etc. Is that what you mean? I have the accesstuner race software but I can no longer use it with a protuned map as I am locked out of altering it..
