I didn't mean to insult their engineering in any way shape or form, nor do i doubt any cars complexity. But I had sky high expectations for a FSAE car on an autox course and didn't expect them to be having issues. Which wasn't very bright on my part.

Yeah I know you didn't. I didn't mean to scold you if it came out that way. I can understand your expectations as these are SPECIFICALLY made for nasacross, however SDSU unfortunately does not have the best of cars. That is one of the reasons I went to Mines instead (not to toot our own horn but we are undoubtedly much better).

Whenever you build a car from scratch using new technologies your bound to have problems though. It's too bad you guys won't get to see the 07' or 09' in action as they are considerably faster than the 03'. Anywhere from 6-15 seconds faster on about an 80 second course if I were to approximate. A lot obviously has to do with drivers, which is why we are bringing some underclassmen to drive, to get more experience.

personally, i can think of a lot of great cars that would do great on a road course, that would suck on our autox courses. not to say that our courses suck! i love our little stretch of tarmac, but i would never judge a car on how well it does there.

...Well if you ever judge one car by how it does at autox, it should probably be a FSAE car.

Kind of unrelated to autox and a bit open for a sae but daaaaaammmnnn that sounds mean.

Great event once again. I think I heard 48 cars was the turnout... nice.

I'm happy with how I ran. I seem to be losing a bit of my edge but hopefully by October I'll have it back.

The FSAE car was pretty sweet; seemed like they were having fun. I didn't think it'd be running as quickly as it did since it wasn't really too powerful, but it sure made up time with rail-like handling. I told them to show up October 11th but they said they might be in the middle of designing this year's car. I want to see the 2007 car run - that thing looks run.

Glad to see I didn't have any leftover soda either and thanks for the pizza; helped shave 3 seconds off my 1st heat times :)

Good driving everyone; see ya October 11th!

I was not sure on final car count. I think Russ and Brian turned theirs in after the fact- so turnout was possibly 50.

Either way- great day, great fun, good pizza, I drove like crap- but what else is new. Time to start thinking towards the next event.

Great having the FSAE guys down. Hopefully we can have a decent turnout at the last event.

THANKS FOR COMING TO THE GOOSE S#!T Nationals. Hope everyone had a good time. All I know is the 1.5 hour knap I took wasn't enough- so I am going back to sleep...

Talk to everyone later.

I'm not going to be able to race on the 11th. In fact after a fun run in Quincy's M3, I don't think I'll be able to drive my car period... shoulda listened to him when he tried to talk me out of it.

But i'm sure I'll get over it. At least enough to barbeque my tires further. See you all there, hopefully in the rain.

This was one of the best courses I've driven on in a long time. More like this, please.

Another great course! Thanks Russ! Just a fun event in gerenal, it was good seeing so many cars out there! It's sad there's only one event left this year.
